Record Details

The NPS Voyager Library Catalog provides three custom record displays:

  • The Short View provides the basics: main author, title, holdings information (i.e., library locations and call numbers), publishing information, format, subject headings and links to digital resources (if any).
  • The Long View provides all of the above, plus secondary authors, physical description, title notes and table of contents (if any).
  • The MARC View is for the benefit of professional catalogers. It includes all of the above, and more, in a highly structured, tagged format.

Note that terms used to conduct Keyword Searches are displayed in bold italics in the record. You may have to check all three views to find the field containing the keyword(s) you searched.

If there is more than one title in your results list, you may advance or go back through the results list by clicking the Next or Back buttons near the top and bottom of each record display page.

You may execute a Headings Search from any record display page by clicking on an underlined Author, Call Number or Subject Heading. A Headings Search will put you in the respective Headings Index at the location where the heading appearing in the record occurs, and then give you the ability to browse backward or forward through the index.

If there are Digital Resources associated with a record, these will appear as linked items in all three views. Simply click on them to retrieve the pages.

You may save information about the current record in several ways (emailing, printing, downloading to a file) as shown in the Save Options box at the bottom of every record display page.

Click the New Search button to clear your previous search and return to the Basic Search page.

The Title Bar at the top of the page will display your current NPS Voyager Library Catalog location.
